Submit a Story
Negros Island Stories accepts story suggestions about people, events, cultural projects, festivals, community initiatives, and other meaningful topics connected to Negros Island, Negros Oriental, and Dumaguete City.
This page is for anyone who would like to suggest a person, event, article, or community story for editorial review. Submission does not mean automatic publication.
Submit a Person for Consideration
Negros Island Stories may consider profiles of people connected to Negros Island, Negros Oriental, or Dumaguete City whose work, achievements, or public contribution help meaningfully represent the local community, the region, or the Philippines.
We are especially interested in individuals who have made a serious contribution in their field, helped raise the reputation of the local community, or made the city, province, island, or the Philippines more widely recognized.
Who Can Be Submitted
A person may be considered for publication if they have a clear and verifiable connection to Negros Island, Negros Oriental, or Dumaguete City and meet at least one of the following criteria:
The person has achieved professional recognition in a specific field.
They have represented the city, province, island, or the Philippines beyond the local level.
Their work has contributed to culture, education, sports, business, public service, science, design, the arts, or another meaningful field.
They have helped make Negros Island, Negros Oriental, Dumaguete City, or the Philippines more visible, respected, or professionally recognized.
Their contribution is supported by public records, media coverage, official pages, awards, projects, or other credible sources.
What We Look For When Reviewing a Person
We do not publish profiles based only on popularity, personal opinion, or private recommendation. A submitted person should have a contribution that can be clearly explained and verified through public sources.
A strong submission shows what the person has done, why it matters, and how their work connects to the local community.
The contribution should be meaningful, visible, and supported by reliable information. It is preferable when the person’s work or achievements are recognized beyond their immediate personal circle or local network.
Public Reputation
Submitted profiles are reviewed with attention to public reputation, verified sources, and editorial suitability.
Negros Island Stories may decline or delay publication if there are serious unresolved public issues, verified allegations, corruption-related controversies, or other matters that may affect the credibility of the profile.
We do not consider rumors, personal attacks, anonymous claims, or unsupported accusations as reliable grounds for review.
Past legal issues do not automatically disqualify a person, especially when the matter has been resolved and the person has already faced the legal consequences.
In such cases, we consider the current public record, the nature of the person’s contribution, and the relevance of the story to the community.
